Solar Garden Decor Lights

Decorative solar lights are about how they look by day as much as how they glow at night. A piece that looks good unlit is worth paying a little more for.

• Build. Resin and metal hold up better than thin plastic in UV light. Check how the panel is attached and whether it can be cleaned easily.
• Light output. Most decor lights give a soft accent glow, not path lighting. Colour-changing models use more power than a steady warm white.
• Battery access. A screw-off cap or battery door means you can replace the cell instead of the whole light.
• Memorial and grave lights. Check cemetery rules first; many restrict glass, stakes or what can be left on a grave. Choose stable, low-profile designs.
